Cedar Crest College blew out the metaphorical candles for our 156th anniversary at our third annual Founding Day Celebration on Friday, September 8.
The festivities were held in Canova Commons and started with a few inspiring words by President Meade on the legacy of the college. Afterwards, guests enjoyed the student awards ceremony, light refreshments, a build your own bouquet station and – of course – birthday treats!
Founding Day was coined by President Meade just three short years ago, and it’s already a favored tradition. As said best by our President, “By pausing to honor the grit, determination and sense of justice that led to the founding of a college for women in a church basement, we renew our commitment to this mission, which is needed today more than ever.”
