Whether you’re looking to change careers or advance in your current role, as a graduate of Business Administration at Cedar Crest College, we see you changing the world with passion and skill as a business leader.

This program is available through a hybrid format; that means you can choose between a completely online, on-campus evening courses, or combination of formats so you can work on your degree around your busy life. We’ve grounded our Business Administration program in the liberal arts to incorporates modern thinking in creativity, communication, leadership, relationships, and analysis, with the functional skills necessary to lead and grow organizations. 

You’ll be encouraged to explore multiple areas of interest to develop effective communication skills, collaborate in a business environment, and function effectively with team members. You will also learn to act ethically in businesses and apply a global lens which values cultural diversity.

Program Requirements

To be certified for graduation, a student majoring in business administration must take a minimum of 30 credits of course work in the Department of Business, Management, and Economics at Cedar Crest College.

All courses within the major must be passed with a grade of C- or better. A minimum cumulative grade-point average of 2.25 and a minimum average in the major of 2.50 must be achieved.

All students must complete the Department Core Courses, the Business Administration requirements.  As an option, students may elect to take a concentration by taking four  additional electives, each in the appropriate area of study.  A student completing a minor and a concentration may only overlap one course.

Rosanna Cabatic (Student Representative)

Rosanna Cabatic is the Advising and Retention Specialist for International Populations at Cedar Crest College.  Prior to joining the Cedar Crest community in 2015, Rosanna worked with linguistically diverse individuals in higher education and non-profit organizations for nearly nine years as an ELL instructor and administrator.

She graduated from Hollins University with a BA in Political Science, and later received her M.Ed. in TESOL from Seattle University. Rosanna is currently working on her Master of Business Administration at Cedar Crest College and plans to expand her role in leadership and academic supports within higher education.

Karianne M. Gelinas

Ms. Gelinas helps the Lehigh Valley Economic Development Corporation better understand the region’s labor market dynamics. She works closely with LVEDC’s Education and Talent Supply Council and helps develop plans to obtain workforce supply and demand data from educational institutions and employers within the Lehigh Valley. She previously worked for seven years at Lehigh Carbon Community College, most recently as Assistant Director of Literacy and Job Training.

Ms. Gelinas has a Master of Education with a focus in Curriculum and Instruction from Arizona State University, as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Cognitive Science from Vassar College.

Joané W. Hockenbury

Joané Hockenbury is the Vice President of Human Resources and Environmental Safety & Health at Just Born Quality Confections, a family owned candy company that manufactures PEEPS®, MIKE AND IKE®, HOT TAMALES® and GOLDENBERG’S® PEANUT CHEWS® candy brands.

Joané joined Just Born in 2002 and has worked in many areas of the business including customer service, IT, and HR. In her current role, she is responsible for strategy and functional aspects of Human Resources, Environmental Health and Safety, Internal Communications and Office Services. Including labor relations, compensation, benefits, associate rewards, talent management, recruiting, organizational development, associate learning and development, associate engagement, and employment services. Joané is a firm believer that leadership, at all levels of an organization, is necessary to build a sustainable, effective, respectful culture.

Prior to joining Just Born, Joané worked for an engineering firm specializing in research and development of specialized signal leakage detection equipment for the cable tv industry. She was responsible for the overall administrative and management functions.

She graduated from The Wescoe School of Muhlenberg College with a BS in Human Resources and a MS in Organizational Development & Leadership from St. Joseph’s University. She holds a PHR and SHRM-CP certification, as well as certifications in change management, emotional intelligence and DiSC®. She is an avid volunteer and was honored to be awarded Volunteer of the Year by the Volunteer Center of the Lehigh Valley in 2010. She served as President and board member of Dream Come True and board member of Northeast Ministries. She is currently on the board of Society of Human Resource Management, Lehigh Valley (SHRMLV), Advisory Board for Bethlehem Area Vocational Technical School, and on the Board for Forum for Ethics in the Workplace.

Joané and her husband, Terence, are the proud parents of two children and two amazing grandchildren.

Tammy L. Klotz (Alumnae Representative)

Tammy Klotz is currently the Chief Information Security Officer at Covanta (CVA) based in Morristown, NJ. Tammy joined the Covanta team in June 2020 and is in the process of developing a comprehensive security program for the organization. Covanta is a leader in sustainable waste and energy solutions.

Prior to Covanta, Tammy was the Chief Information Security Officer for Versum Materials. At Versum, she was responsible for the Cyber Security Program which included Information Risk Management, Plant/OT Cyber Security as well as IT Security, Risk & Compliance activities. Versum was a $1.3B global electronic materials company with manufacturing operations in 14 facilities across North American & Asia. Prior to her role at Versum, Tammy worked at Air Products & Chemicals for 25 years in a variety of leadership roles. Highlights of her Air Products career include IT Communications, Service & Business Relationship Management, global leadership of multiple IT support teams and IT Audit Manager.

Ms. Klotz is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), and is also Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC). She is a Governing Body Member of the Philadelphia Chapter of Evanta, Board Member of Delaware Valley Cloud Security Alliance activities and is involved with the Philadelphia Women & Cyber Security group. Tammy was also a 2019 Finalist for T.E.N Information Security Executive ® of the Year for the Northeast & North America.

Chelsea Winkler

Chelsea has been employed with Lehigh Valley Health Network since 2016 and serves as a Practice Operations Transformation Specialist or in shorter terms, a Practice Coach.

Chelsea graduated from Cedar Crest College with a bachelor’s degree in Business and Healthcare Administration and is currently working towards her MBA. While at Cedar Crest, she participated in the Accounting Club and the Society of Human Resource Management Club and served as president during her junior and senior year at Cedar Crest. She also played on the Girls Softball Team.

Ms. Winkler Is married to her high school sweetheart and they are huge Philadelphia Eagles and Flyers sports fans. They reside in Macungie with her daughter and two loveable dogs.
