Dr. Elizabeth M. Meade, Cedar Crest College President
Dr. Elizabeth M. Meade was inaugurated as the fourteenth President of Cedar Crest College on July 1, 2018.
Dr. Elizabeth M. Meade became the fourteenth President of Cedar Crest College in 2018, having served one year as Interim President. A member of the Cedar Crest faculty since 1993, Meade also served as the Humanities Department Chair, Associate Provost, and Provost.
As President, Meade has led the development and implementation of the College’s current strategic plan, Open the Door to What’s Next, featuring signature initiatives such as a Laptops for Learners program, full funding for the College’s exclusive international experience, Sophomore Expedition, a Degree in Three accelerated path to a bachelor’s degree, and a School of Nursing public health care clinic.
Meade earned her bachelor’s degree with distinction in German language and literature from Bryn Mawr College, followed by her master’s degree and her PhD, both in philosophy, from Boston College. She is married to Arturo Perez who is a software engineer with Cisco Systems. They have three adult children.
