What are matching gifts?

• Employee matching gift programs are corporate giving initiatives where companies match donations made by their employees to eligible nonprofit organizations.
• For example, if an Apple employee donates $1,000 to Cedar Crest College, Apple will match that amount at a 1:1 ratio, making the total contribution $2,000.

Why should I match my gift?

• Matching gifts are an excellent way to increase your support without additional out-of-pocket expense to you. Thousands of companies and corporate foundations match gifts to nonprofit institutions, such as Cedar Crest.
• Matching gifts are a crucial source of Cedar Crest’s financial support. You can double, or even triple, the value of your gift by notifying your employer of your donation!

Are matching gifts free?

• Yes! Matching gifts are completely free. When you donate to Cedar Crest College, you can take advantage of your employer’s matching gift program at no extra cost to you.

Am I eligible?

• If you haven’t already, type the name of your employing organization into the search bar below. This will provide you with company-specific details about their charitable gift matching program and other relevant information.

My employer did not appear in the search bar. Now what?

• Even if your company isn’t on our list, your employer may still match your donation. Check with your HR manager to see if your contribution can be matched. Additionally, you can inquire with your spouse’s employer, as they might also offer a matching gift program for your donation.

How do I request a matching gift?

• Requesting a matching gift or volunteer grant is usually a quick five-minute process that must be initiated by the donor. This can be done by completing and submitting a paper match form provided by your employer or through an electronic submission process. Please use the search bar below for information specific to your company.
• 93% of all donors submit matches electronically!

How do I submit a matching gift?

• Make a donation to Cedar Crest College at cedarcrest.edu/give.
• Log into your company’s matching gift submission website (if you use the Double the Donation search tool, you will receive a follow-up email linking to this page).
• Once logged in, search for Cedar Crest College.
• Select Cedar Crest College from the search results. If it is not found, manually enter the organization’s details. Our information is located at the bottom of this page!
• Register the donation.
• Submit the completed matching gift request to your employer.
