Favorite memory: It was in Fall 2021 when the pandemic was still overwhelming and masks had to be worn everywhere we went. I remember in Ecology class we were able to walk around the beautiful campus and study the many different types of trees. It is my fondest memory because even though it was a challenging time for everyone, we were able to take in the beauty of nature while being able to walk around outside with others without a mask and without thinking about this terrible virus for that short time.
Elementary Education Major
My favorite Cedar Crest memory was the trip to Costa Rica. Not only did I go outside the country for my first time but I got to explore it with really good friends of mine. Through the sophomore expedition I had the opportunity to try various new foods and see different sites in Costa Rica.

Nursing Major
To my clinical group, thank you for all of the laughs and memories. We really went through a LOT together. It was a constant two years of craziness, but I am so glad that I got to know each of you, and I am grateful to call you my friends. I hope that we can continue to keep in touch and have get togethers for many, many years. Like Professor Axt said on the first day ... these are your forever friends! Thank you for always helping me calm down during my one, or possibly two, freak-outs I ever had (every hour), and helping me with no hesitation whenever I needed it (also every hour). You are all wonderful nurses and I am so proud of all of you! You all ended up in the specialty that you wanted! I wish you all nothing but love and success in all that you ever do.
President, Cedar Crest College
For our graduating seniors who began in the fall of 2019: I will always remember your adaptability and persistence through all of our COVID policies: from being sent home in March of your freshman year, to a sophomore year of masking and distancing and no indoor dining, to a postponed (twice!) Sophomore Expedition, and a gradual return to a new normal. You kept your focus on your studies and on rebuilding our community. Your determination carried you through!
Athletics
Allie Infante, Amber Cieri, Emily Demarest, Kiley Marone, Lex Hertzog, and Morgan Frantz,
Thank you for all your contributions to our field hockey program. It has been a pleasure to coach you the past 2 seasons and I am so excited to watch you grow into professionals. You were my first group of graduating seniors as a coach and have forever made an impact on my life and heart.
[more]Allie - I know you’ll do great as a teacher and I’m always here if the kids start to make you lose your marbles.
Amber and Morgan - You are going to be empathetic and responsible nurses and I wish you the best of luck with your careers and know you’ll make an impact immediately.
Emily - We are so lucky to have you back for another season! You have been an awesome leader on our team and I know your legacy will continue this fall. We are so excited to watch you earn a masters degree!
Lex - You have been an excellent leader for your teammates and will continue to do so now from the sidelines! They are truly lucky to have you as a coach and me lucky to have you as a coworker and to mentor. I’m also looking forward to watching you earn your masters!
And Kiley - You have smashed just about every field hockey record at this school and I could not be more proud of the growth you’ve had as a person as well. You have left a mark on the program for years to come. We are so excited to see where the road takes you!
To all of you- Always remember that Coach Sott is just a phone call or a text away! I will miss you all so so much!!!

Biological Sciences
In your first year you had to go home in the spring and suddenly rally to learn online when many of your professors were just figuring out how to push the right buttons in Canvas. Then you had to be brave enough to come back in the fall - masks and social distances. And you did, and here you are - amazing!! Congratulations!
Nursing
Congratulations Class of 2023!!! You did it, even though there were times you probably thought you couldn't! I've had the pleasure of getting to know so many of you, some of you from your first day as a freshman. What started out as providing you with some much-needed caffeine or a refreshing treat turned into feeling like a "school mom" to a lot of you, and a friend to even more, and I will forever be grateful for that. You always brightened my day with your smiles and have taught me so much more than you realize. I love you and am very proud of you, and you should be very proud of yourselves as well. Congratulations!! I wish you all the very best! :)
