“When I came to Cedar Crest, it was a breath of fresh air,” shares Paul Pueyes, recipient of the Lehigh Valley Health Network (LVHN) Friends of Nursing Award. “Everyone here has been so welcoming and inclusive, and I truly feel like I’m healing here. After everything I’ve been through, getting recognized and winning this award means a lot.”
Paul Pueyes, a dedicated student in the nursing program at Cedar Crest College, has been chosen as one of two recipients of the LVHN Friends of Nursing Award. This honor recognizes Pueyes’ exceptional dedication, compassion, and commitment to the nursing profession.
Before coming to the College, Pueyes spent thirty years serving as a medic in the military. His experience serving alongside several Cedar Crest nurses inspired him to pursue his own education at the institution.
Pueyes will be honored onstage at LVHN’s Friends of Nursing gala on Thursday, May 9, 2024, at the ArtsQuest Center at SteelStacks in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. The event serves as a celebration of nursing excellence in the Lehigh Valley region.
“What really stands out to me about Cedar Crest is the people,” Pueyes says. “The students and instructors are just brilliant and, most of all, kind.”
