3-year+ Integrated Graduate Programs

Several of our 3-year degree programs are designed to integrate with graduate programs so you can seamlessly move into earning your master’s degree.

Integrated Programs:

  • 3+1 Business Administration – Master of Business Administration
  • 3+1 Criminal Justice – Master of Crime Science
  • 3+1 Health Science – MS in Exercise Science
  • 3+2 Writing – MFA in Creative Writing
  • 3+2 English – MFA in Creative Writing
  • 3+3 Health Science – Occupational Therapy Doctorate (OTD)

Accelerating your bachelor’s degree means getting a job or going to graduate school earlier, which means you’ll kick-start your career and start earning higher wages sooner. You can also get an earlier start on one of our graduate programs, such as the 3+3 track in our Health Science + Occupational Therapy Doctorate pairing. This gives you a faster return on your investment in your education. If you’re a residential student, you’ll also save money on housing and meal plan costs, since you’ll be an on-campus resident for only 3 years instead of 4.

You can declare your commitment to a 3-year degree any time between the beginning of your first semester through one week after grades are due in your first semester. This does mean that you need to commit to this path sooner than students who choose our 4-Year Guarantee. This allows us to ensure your academic plan is aligned with the 3-year course plan for your major.

To declare a major in one of our 3-year degree programs, complete the declaration form, get the required signatures, and submit it to the Registrar’s Office no later than one week after final grades are due for your first semester at Cedar Crest.

There are no eligibility requirements to declare a 3-year degree program. However, we do recommend that you meet with your academic advisor or Falcon Navigator to review your academic history (such as any transfer or AP credits you brought to Cedar Crest), your currently enrolled classes, and the 3-year course plan for your intended major before you declare a 3-year degree program. This will ensure that you know what to expect and can make an informed decision about whether it’s right for you.

To remain in a 3-year program, you will need to make academic progress that aligns with the 3-year course plan for your major. If you are unable to complete classes according to that plan, it may not be possible for you to get back on the 3-year track, so it’s important to work closer with your academic advisor to monitor your progress and be proactive about discussing any concerns about your academic plan with them or your Falcon Navigator.

In addition, many of the majors at Cedar Crest have academic requirements you need to meet to remain in a particular major; for example, you might need to earn grades of a C or higher in certain courses in your major. You can find these requirements explained for each major in the College Catalog. These requirements apply to students in the 3-year programs, too, even though you might be taking certain classes at a different time than students on a 4-year track. As long as you continue to meet any academic requirements for your major, and work with your advisor to make any necessary changes to your academic plan to remain on track to graduate in 3 years, you can remain declared in the 3-year degree program.

At Cedar Crest, every student gets a faculty academic advisor in their declared major, and the same goes for the 3-year degrees, too. In addition to your faculty advisor, you’ll also be assigned a Falcon Navigator, who can help you align your academic plan with your career goals and provide supplemental academic advising throughout your time at Cedar Crest.

That’s ok! Sometimes your plans change, and we’re here to help when that happens. If you need to move away from the 3-year track for any reason, your academic advisor and your Falcon Navigator will help you develop a new academic plan that fits your timeline and submit the required paperwork to the Registrar’s Office to update your information. This will also make sure that your financial aid is adjusted to fit your new academic timeline.
