Cedar Crest College’s well-known School of Nursing now offers a fast-track to a bachelor’s degree in nursing. The Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing (ABSN) is a full-time program designed for students who already hold a bachelor’s degree in a non-nursing specialty and are ready for a fulfilling career in the high-demand field of nursing.

The ABSN program runs in an accelerated, 15-month format that allows a student the opportunity to start a career as a nurse quickly. Prospective students who have met program pre-requisites can begin as early as May 2020. The program provides the same exceptional and rigorous training by the School of Nursing faculty that is the hallmark of the traditional bachelor’s program. The innovative curriculum also includes graduate-level courses that can give students a head start on a master’s degree in nursing.

The School of Nursing at Cedar Crest College offers a state-of-the-art learning facility, which includes two health assessment labs, a maternal and pediatric lab, an adult health lab and a community health lab and a Simulation Center with two high-fidelity simulation labs. The School of Nursing posted a 100 percent pass rate on the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX) for 2018-2019 and maintains excellent relationships with clinical partners in large healthcare networks across the region.

“Cedar Crest’s School of Nursing takes a holistic approach to education. We combine strong academics with real-world experiences. Our approach transforms students into nurse leaders and that is also clear in our outstanding NCLEX results,” said Dr. Wendy Robb, Dean of the School of Nursing.

The School of Nursing Open House information session hosted by Cedar Crest College’s School of Adult and Graduate Education will take place Monday, February 3 at 5:45 p.m. in the Hamilton Boulevard Building.
