Cedar Crest College has announced a new merit scholarship program for Northampton Community College (NCC) graduates enrolling full time in the undergraduate women’s college. Cedar Crest President Elizabeth Meade, Ph.D., and NCC President Mark Erikson, Ed.D., conducted a ceremonial signing of the scholarship agreement on Tuesday, June 28 at Cedar Crest College.

Through this program, students from a variety of disciplines can turn their NCC associate degrees into bachelor’s degrees from Cedar Crest. Full-time students accepted to the undergraduate women’s college can transfer directly into Cedar Crest with significant merit aid when they meet the following GPA requirements:

GPAMerit Scholarship
2.0-2.99$16,000
3.0-3.49$17,000
3.5-4.0$18,000

Full-time male transfer students applying to the Cedar Crest School of Nursing or Nuclear Medicine Technology programs that meet the criteria are also eligible.

Along with these merit scholarships, Cedar Crest and NCC have also set program-to-program agreements in areas such as Health Science, Biology, English, Writing, Theater and other fields. The program agreements ensure that NCC students receive maximum credit to seamlessly transfer to Cedar Crest after completing an Associate of Arts or Science degree from NCC, as well as select applied associate degrees.

“Cedar Crest is delighted to partner with Northampton Community College and provide this additional financial support for our transfer students,” says President Meade. “Our scholarships for NCC students help make a Cedar Crest bachelor’s degree affordable. Students who start at NCC and pursue a bachelor’s degree at Cedar Crest are set up for success. And our new program agreements make for a seamless process as students complete an associate degree at NCC and then join us at Cedar Crest for their bachelor’s degree.”
