Dr. Elizabeth Meade, president of Cedar Crest College, has been elected to the National Association of Independent Colleges and Universities (NAICU) board.
Dr. Meade is one of eight new board members elected for the upcoming three-year term. Beginning July 1, she will represent Region III, which includes Kentucky, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia.
“I am so grateful for the opportunity to work with NAICU to advocate on behalf of independent higher education,” says Dr. Meade. “NAICU has an outstanding record of ensuring that the voice of independent colleges and universities is heard.”
The NAICU is a national membership organization which represents the 1,700 private, nonprofit colleges and universities across the country on public policy in Washington, DC. Board members set the agenda on federal higher education policy, encourage support for the association’s initiatives and priorities, and oversee its financial administration.
