At Cedar Crest, Women’s History Month is more than just a celebration–it’s a reflection of our commitment to empowering women and preparing them to lead in every field. From groundbreaking advancements in technology education to fostering leadership in business and athletics, we continue to create opportunities that inspire and uplift our students.

Breaking Barriers for Women in Technology

Built on our historic legacy as an undergraduate women’s college, the Harmon Center for Leadership in Technology is designed to support students of all gender identities while ensuring women have the tools, resources, and opportunities to thrive in technology-driven fields.

The Center has expanded academic opportunities with the introduction of new undergraduate majors in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, and Data Science, alongside study in Applied AI Integration. These programs provide students with in-demand technical skills, preparing them for careers in rapidly evolving industries. By integrating these exciting academic fields, the Harmon Center ensures that every Cedar Crest student leaves with the technical skills needed to lead in their industry.

To further this mission, the Harmon Center Advisory Council was formed–a group of ten diverse trailblazers from across the tech industry who bring invaluable expertise and leadership. Their insights will help shape the Center, provide mentorship, and create connections that empower students to thrive in the ever-evolving world of technology.

Shaping the Future of Business Leadership

Cedar Crest’s women’s leadership focused MBA is equipping the next generation of change-makers with the strategic skills to drive innovation and gender equity in the workplace. The flexible, accredited program is open to students of all gender identities aspiring to champion diversity, uplift women in business, and drive meaningful change.

Through a career-focused curriculum, personalized mentorship, and real-world application, graduates leave prepared to shape industries, lead with confidence, and redefine the future of business.

Expanding Athletics Opportunities

This past year, Cedar Crest announced the addition of Women’s Flag Football–our 12th varsity sport! This exciting expansion aligns with national efforts to increase opportunities for women in athletics, and Cedar Crest is proud to be at the forefront of this movement in the Lehigh Valley collegiate space.

With support from the United East Conference and the National Football League, our program will provide student-athletes with the chance to compete, develop leadership skills, and be part of a growing national movement that champions gender equity in sports.

Supporting Students Beyond the Classroom

At Cedar Crest, we’re committed to ensuring students have the resources they need to thrive. From breastfeeding pods to free, unlimited menstrual products through our campus pantry, we’re focused on removing barriers and fostering a supportive, inclusive environment.

As we celebrate Women’s History Month, we honor the progress we’ve made while continuing to open doors for women and shape a future where every student has the opportunity to lead.
