Art Exhibit: Troping the Colors, Between Painting and Sculpture by Anthony Smith Jr.

Smith’s vibrant, layered pieces utilize texture and mixed media elements for striking visuals. The title of the series, along with the titles of the pieces, serve as a love letter to the Gen X generation. While the references are a fun callback, Smith doesn’t shy away from important subjects like race, class, and sexuality.
