Want to Learn More?
Our evening dance program at Cedar Crest College allows you to view the art of dance from multiple perspectives to fully understand it as a discipline of study. As a dance major at Cedar Crest College, we see you gaining the knowledge and skills necessary to explore your own unique and creative expression through workshops and performance pieces.
Dance majors are encouraged participate in two performances a year, including one choreographed by students themselves and to also participate in theater productions such as plays and musicals.
You will be instructed by a knowledgeable and experienced faculty, as well as encouraged to interact and work with your peers. This interaction challenges you to explain and articulate the meaning behind your creative pieces. It also enables you to improve as an artist, while practicing important skills, such as teamwork and critical thinking.
Cedar Crest emphasizes how dance connects with other disciplines within a liberal arts education. Given the framework for the exploration of your style, you will learn to combine your artistic expression with your other studies and interests, including those that may not directly relate to dance.
Cedar Crest recognizes that adult students have a lot of responsibilities in their lives. That’s why we’ve designed this program to be able to be taken through evening classes so you can more easily complete your education with your schedule.
Coming to Cedar Crest with some previous credits under your belt? We see how hard you worked for your previous credits, so that’s why we’ve developed a generous transfer credit policy. Our transfer counselors will help you make sure you can finish strong.
